History: |
| The Women’s ECommerce Association International™ was founded as a not-for-profit organization by Heidi Richards in 2002. On August 17, 2003 our first website was launched. On August 19, 2004 our website was re-launched as the version you see today.
The first eNewsletter was sent to more than 2,000 subscribers in August 2004, the first local chapter (South Florida) was launched during the International Women’s ECommerce Day celebration on September 19, 2005, and the 1st World Congress date to be announced .
WECAI.org has plans to start chapters in a number of cities around the United States, Canada and Europe in the next 24 months. |
| How is WECAI™ governed? |
WECAI™ is governed by a Board of Advisors comprised of representatives from the North and South America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. The purpose of the Board of advisors is to:
- Raise awareness of WECAI.org
- Foster the creation and growth of local chapters
- Encourage colleagues and contacts to join WECAI.org
- To involve the global community in the endeavors of the Women’s ECommerce Association, Int'l.
- Provide networking opportunities for members
- Promote WECAI™ to local media through media releases supplied by WECAI™

WECAI™ chapters are local groups which offer additional member services and benefits including:
- Quarterly meetings with guest speakers, panels discussions, and workshops
