Daisy Wright is president of The Wright Career Solution, a company that focuses on helping people gain clarity on where they want to go, and what they want to achieve in their careers. Although she worked in the corporate arena for a number of years, it was her love for helping to point people in the “wright” career direction that led her to take up career development as a full-time endeavour.
Her corporate work experience includes a stint with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) in New York, one of the "Big 6" banks in Canada, a plastics manufacturing company, a financial services company, and the electricity company in Jamaica. This exposure has contributed tremendously to her ability to work with people from a variety of cultures and educational levels. As a result, her clientele knows no borders and is representative of a "global village". Daisy was a part-time professor in the Faculty of Business at Sheridan College was on the board of a nonprofit organization and has been active on her children’s school council. She has been a mentor to many individuals, and currently mentors a 12-year old girl through The United Achievers’ Community Services of Brampton, a nonprofit organization. She’s also a mentor with the Mentoring Partnership, an alliance of community agencies in the City of Toronto, Peel Region and York Region, who offer occupation specific mentoring to skilled immigrants.
Her company provides confidential career services tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. Her ability to empathize and motivate, complemented by training and facilitation skills honed as an adult educator, enable her to help clients develop positive career management skills, improve their employability and enhance their self-esteem.
Daisy is a qualified Career Development Practitioner, and was recognized by Conestoga College as “A Graduate of Distinction” for outstanding performance in the program. In addition to that training, she has completed a course in Electronic Tools & Techniques and one in eCoaching. Both courses allow her to offer coaching services online and via the telephone. Daisy also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ryerson University and has authored several career-related articles. Some of her writings have appeared in industry magazines, a college textbook and a career publication on interviews.
Daisy is a founding member and Advisor of Career Professionals of Canada, a member of ACP International, Career Masters Institute, Parachute Associates, Professional Résumé Writers and Research Association, and National Career Development Association. She was recently appointed the Canadian Director for Women E-Commerce Association, International (WECAI).
Daisy is married with a 20-year old daughter, a 16-year old son, and 3 cats.
