Try Out New Organization Helps Women do Business Around the World, at no Risk!
Miramar, FL (September 1, 2004) – Heidi Richards, Founder & CEO of the Women’s Ecommerce Association, International – WECAI.org (pronounced wee-kī) and the Board of Advisors announced today that the organization will offer women around the globe the opportunity to become a member of this global community at no cost through the end of 2004. The trial membership is designed to expedite the mission of WECAI which is “To create an international community that provides and enhances a greater understanding of ecommerce among women through education and professional development.” The new not-for-profit organization, focuses on promoting, educating and advocating for “women who do business on the web,” and is open to women around the globe. The only requirement to participate is that the women have access to email and the Internet.
Ms. Richards, says, “I realized that with the help of all of the international relationships I have been developing we could also create a community of women who could connect on a global level." Our board of directors consists of women from Portugal, Italy, The United Kingdom, South Africa, Belize, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany and North America. We are also actively recruiting women from other parts of the world, including Asia, Egypt and Canada to serve on the charter board.
The Board of Advisors decided to extend an invitation so women could see what WECAI is all about AT NO RISK! There are big plans in the works for WECAI.org. They include creating the FIRST Women’s Who’s Who in Ecommerce Directory, starting chapters on all seven continents, designing an Ecommerce Academy for women to further their knowledge and experience, and an International Congress bringing women together from every corner of the globe. The Congress is scheduled for September, 2005 in the island of San Miguel in The Azores. Linda Pereira, of CPL Events in Portugal and International Liaison to WECAI.org says, “It is truly wonderful to be a part of such a visionary organization. We know this organization is going to create excitement from all corners of the globe. Our goal is to encourage women everywhere to become 'united through the mouse'.”
