Cheryl Mizell is a RADIO TALK SHOW HOST / PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTOR of 99 Jams WEDR-FM an Actress, Voice Over Specialist, and the owner of Cheryl Mizell Voice Productions, Inc.
She currently produces, hosts and edits a weekly one hour public affairs talk show to address the most significant community issues by bringing in resourceful guests that help identify solutions and empower listeners through awareness.
She has interviewed national celebrities such as Spike Lee, Russell Simmons, Dr. Ben Chavis and Angelique Kidjo to discuss local issues related to causes they supported in South Florida.
She also conducts interviews to discuss current government and political issues with local and state officials such as Alex Sink: Florida CFO, Carlos Alvarez: Miami-Dade Mayor, Manny Diaz: Former Miami Mayor, among others.
In her responsibilities with WEDR, Ms Mizell also provides related website content to keep listeners informed and create mechanisms that encourage the flow of information and opinions to and from the radio station, conduct one-on-one and/or group interviews with community leaders to ascertain the most significant problems, needs and interests of the community Writes daily scripts for “Community News” broadcasts presented by on-air personalities during morning drive show.
She has interviewed spokespersons, gathered a variety of opinions, from community organizations, government agencies, economic development corporations, businesses and media outlets such as the Miami Workers Center, Power U, Take Back the Land, Southern Coalition for Social Justice, NCCJ, NAACP, Hispanic Unity, ACLU, 100 Black Men, Miami Herald, Greater Miami Dade Chamber, among many others.
Ms Mizell is a member of Voice123, Voices, Voiceover Universe, Voiceover Miami and VoiceStaff, South Florida Black Journalists Association, the Professional Speakers Network and supports local charities including March of Dimes: Achievement in Radio Awards and has appeared in numerous commercials. Among them “Gain,” and “Pantene” for Proctor & Gamble, Caribbean Radio, Mercedes Benz and Saturn’s “Single Again.”
