PACE Center for Girls Broward: PACE Center for Girls Broward is a free, voluntary program providing academics, counseling, life skills training, career and college preparation and community service projects for adolescent girls.  To be considered for enrollment, the girl must be between the ages of 11 to 17 years old (grades 6th – 12th), reside in Broward County and present 3 or more risk factors. A girl can be referred to PACE by parents, school counselors, social services professionals, doctors, juvenile judges or themselves (self-referral). PACE program hours of operation are 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday, with extended care available until 4:30 pm.

 

Did you know?

Prior to coming to the PACE program…

  • 53% reported using drugs and alcohol.
  • 37% had run away.
  • 76% were suspended or expelled within current or previous year.

After leaving the PACE program…

  • 89% had no involvement with a crime one year after leaving the program.
  • 97% improved their academic performance.
  • 89% successfully transitioned to high school, college or a vocational program.

Source of Funding

  • Approximately 75% of PACE Broward’s funding comes from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and the School Board of Broward County.  Remaining financial support comes from individuals, businesses, community organizations and private and corporate foundations.

PACE Center for Girls Broward is located on the west side of North Andrews Avenue between Sunrise Blvd. and Oakland Park Blvd. in Wilton Manors. PACE Broward is one of 17 Centers across Florida and since opening in 1992 has served over 2,500 girls in our community.
