Meet Betty Bauman, Founder – “Ladies, Lets Go Fishing!”, Online Auctions Leader
Betty Bauman, a marketing professional with a background in the marine, cookware and cosmetics industries, is Founder of the “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” University series to encourage women to participate in the sports of boating and fishing. To help fund the program and make fishing items available for women to see, she conducts a massive silent auction for each event, with email and on-site bidding. She is Executive Director of the nonprofit Ladies Let’s Go Fishing Foundation.
With 8,000 graduates from 42 states since 1997, this “No-Yelling” School of Fishing provides hands-on opportunities for women to learn boat handling and fishing skills. Held in several Florida cities, the LLGF weekend includes a networking reception, classes on inshore, offshore, bottom and fly fishing, hands-on training, practice, an actual fishing excursion and fish fillet practice. International trips are offered to destinations including Costa Rica and approved trips to Cuba (www.cubatouring.com ).

Betty’s background includes a communications degree from Ohio University, marketing positions with some of the world’s largest boatbuilders and more than 20 years as CEO of MetroMedia Marketing, Inc., conducting publicity campaigns for marine industry clients and events including fishing tournaments.
