Yesterday was the birthday of the Internet! And Women in Ecommerce™ wanted to share an educational video with our members and visitors you may or may not have had the opportunity to view.
Did you know, in 1969 the first connection on what would become known as the Internet was made between computers at UCLA and the Stanford Research Institute. Thus making history that literally changed the world, changed how we communicate and changed how we do business both on and off the web.
In fact, one of the most popular videos on YouTube shares some startling statistics about how far we have come in the last 40+ years.

Although this version was made in the Fall of 2009 (I could not find a legitimate more recent version) it still gives you cause to pause.
They call this another official update to the original “Shift Happens” video which was first produced in 2007. And in fact so many drastic changes have occured even in the past two years. As you watch this youtube video you will see how far we have come just in the Social Media world. This version includes facts and stats focusing on the changing media landscape, including convergence and technology, and was developed in partnership with The Economist.
