Email has been a concern for Internet Marketers since the discovery that email was for more than having conversations with families and friends around the globe.
Email and email marketing are ever evolving. For those of you who sell something online or offline via a real store or ecommerce website, you have probably discovered that many of your emails never get opened or read. And with each passing day that your email does not get read or worse, deleted before its even read, opportunity is lost.
And to top it off, every year the rules of email marketing seem to change. What worked two years ago quite likely does not work today.
With the proliferation of emails we receive on a daily basis, it is difficult for the average ecommerce professional to stay on top of them. So imagine the hassel your customers go through.
Today while attending a Ruby North PAC meeting (Platinum Advisory Council), Racheli Smilovits, Vice President of Technology for the South Florida Chapter of Women in Ecommerce™ had a some great tips to share.
The above video (2.50 min) involves the style of your videos, including the proper typefonts and size, as well as email layout and what length each line in an email should be.
Three tips she shared:
- bullet points trump long emails
- Arial (or other non sarif font) is the easiest to read and
- the very best time to send emails is 6 AM on Wednesday.
In the second Women in Ecommerce video (1.42 min) Racheli discusses:
• How to Sort your emails
• How to Segment them into follow up folders so they can be found and action can be taken.
