Meet Tamzin Ractliffe, Strategic Advisor to SEED and Global Ambassador South Africa
Tamzin Ractliffe is a Founding Trustee of The Impact Trust, a non-profit research and advocacy firm with a focus on the social and environmental business sector and high impact small and growing enterprises, the Impact Trust works to address barriers to high impact investment in small and growing businesses including access to affordable investment capital through research, impact finance product design, advocacy and education. Qualified with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Psychology, and with further study in commerce, Tamzin has worked internationally in the area of financial management and strategic organisational development for more than fifteen years. This includes a number of years with Rothschilds Asset Management in London where she was actively involved in raising £60 million for the International Biotechnology Trust.
Ms. Ractliffe subsequently assisted the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust in the planning and implementation of both a capital campaign and a national public media appeal for the GAYE (Give-as-you-Earn) scheme before establishing Funding SA as a development & fundraising consultancy serving grassroots organisations across the country.
Tamzin established www.thefundingsite.co.za, a web-enabled resource site providing a comprehensive range of information and training services to the South African NGO and Development Community including a searchable database of comprehensive information on donors, corporate grantmakers, trusts, foundations and/or social investment funders. She is also founder of Nexxi and Greater Good South Africa.
Tamzin combines her multi-disciplinary skills and extensive experience in the corporate, financial and marketing fields to advise non-profit organisations on strategic positioning, networking and innovative, creative and proactive methods of expanding the donor base and securing ongoing funding.
