Dr. Cynthia Smith is a retired school principal after thirty seven (37) years of service in public education where she served in several capacities.
Dr. Smith is a 1975 graduate of Florida A&M University, earning a Bachelors of Science Degree in Secondary Education
She furthered her studies and received a Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Nova University in 1979
Dr. Smith also earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 1993.
During her thirty seven year career in public education, she is recognized as a highly skilled professional with in-depth experience in fiscal, as well as personnel management, student academic achievement, analyzing data, marketing and achieving school improvement goals and objectives. She is articulate, compassionate and persuasive as she works with management, peers, students and the community.
Over the years, Dr. Smith has served on numerous local, state, and national boards. She was a member of the National Association of Secondary Principals, the National Association of School Curriculum Development, the Florida Association of School Administrators, as well as her district’s School Administrator’s Association. In addition, she was elected as a member of her county’s Democratic Executive Committee for 18 years, serving as the Vice-Chairwoman for four years. During her tenure, she worked on several local, state and national task forces and campaigns.
Currently, Dr. Smith is developing a second career, as her purpose driven life is focused on her faith, family and serving others.
Dr. Smith is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, but most of all, she is the very proud mom of Dr. M. Smith, Orthopedic Surgeon.
